A Thank You Well Deserved

There are two special men, members of our parish, who have served us consistently and well for the past seventy years. Yes, I did say seventy, maybe even longer!

Frank and Dominic DelPrete have been employed by Holy Family as contractors for our cemetery digging graves, plowing snow, clearing land, laying roads and setting water lines for all these years. Recently talking to Dominic he told me that he had started at Holy Family Cemetery at 18 years of age. He is now 88. He and his brother Frank have recently retired from their life of hard labor and I believe that it is just the right time, during this Christmas Season, to offer them the sincere and profound thanks of the whole parish community for their service to us and to the Lord for all these years.

We all know that the quality with which people serve others is the expression of practical, concrete love which has little to do with feelings and a lot to do with honesty and integrity and reliability.

Frank and Dominic have perhaps done more, in an unseen and little appreciated way to aid folks in their times of sorrow than any of us ever knew. However God knew.
