PASTORAL CARE TO THE SICK & HOMEBOUND

This workshop is for volunteers who minister to the sick, homebound, or parishioners in nursing homes. Please contact Teresa at the rectory (781) 878-0160 by September 7th to register.

 

OFFICE OF WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL LIFE
As you may be aware, the Office of Worship and Spiritual Life, (formerly The Office of Spiritual Development) has developed an eight week guided prayer experience based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. This program has recently been published by Loyola Press and is now called Meeting Christ in Prayer. It leads participants through a prayerful consideration of the person of Jesus Christ and our incorporation into his life and mission. It calls for a commitment of 8 weeks of daily prayer, 8 weekly meetings and Faith sharing. Thousands of people throughout the Archdiocese have participated in this program.

The program will take place at the Pastoral Center, 66 Brooks Drive, Braintree on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m., September 15 – November 3, 2010. For further information and to register call: 617-779-3648 or email: sdarcy@rcab.org.

 

BOSTON COLLEGE

The presenter of the evening is Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, who has been involved in prison ministry since 1981. Her 1993 book, Dead Man Walking, which inspired both a motion picture and an opera, radically questioned capital punishment. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MUSEUM:
CURRENT EXHIBITS

The Knights of Columbus Museum is hosting the American premiere of
Mother Teresa: Life, Spirituality and Message, in observance of the 100th anniversary of the sainthood candidate’s date of birth on August 26, 1910. The exhibition, which runs from March 25 – October 4, 2010, is a historical presentation, chronicling Mother Teresa’s life from childhood to beatification by the Catholic Church. It includes biographical information, artifacts such as her sari and other religious and personal articles, as well as a full-scale replica of Mother Teresa’s convent cell (room) in her Calcutta convent.
The Museum is located at 1 State Street, New Haven, CT.
Free Admission and parking.
