Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults
RCIA/Catechumenate
Program begins in September.
WHAT IS IT?
The catechumenate is a program designed for non-Catholics who may be
interested in learning about the Catholic faith and perhaps becoming a
Catholic, or for Catholics who have not yet received the Sacraments of
Eucharist and/or Confirmation.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We learn about prayer, faith and Jesus. We learn about scripture and try
to relate it to our lives today. We explain the Tradition of the
Catholic Church and its importance. We explain the wonderful gifts we
receive from God in the Sacraments. We explore what our response to God
should be for the love He gives to us. But most of all, we try to
encourage each persons to know God and to develop a personal
relationship with him.
WHEN DOES IT MEET?
We meet every Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., September until
May and for the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Just your time and an open mind and heart.

WHAT IF I AM UNDECIDED?
That’s fine! You are more than welcome to just ‘come and see’ what
we are all about. We don’t ask you to make any decisions right away. You
can continue at your own pace or leave anytime you want. This is a
decision to be made between you and God.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING
CATHOLIC?
Maybe you have found yourself drawn to the Church and the sacraments.
Maybe you were baptized in the Catholic Church but never made your First
Communion or were never Confirmed, or maybe you know someone who is
interested in becoming a Catholic. Our Rite of Christian Initiation for
Adults (RCIA) might be just what you are looking for. The program is
designed to help you grow in your knowledge and love of Jesus Christ and
His Church. We will be starting this year’s program in September which
will culminate at next year’s Easter Vigil. If you have any questions or
are interested, please call Janet Hickey @ 781-718-4684.
