Marriage
Congratulations on your engagement! We would like to help you prepare to
celebrate your wedding at Holy Family Parish, one of the most beautiful
churches on the South Shore.
Before arranging for your reception, please contact one of the priests of the parish at least six months in advance of your planned date. Couples need to sit down with a priest before any date can be booked.
We require a Marriage Preparation (Pre-Cana) course prior to the wedding. Holy
Family offers such a course twice a year (spring and fall), or couples are free to choose from among many
others offered by the Archdiocese.
You can get more information on Marriage Preparation at the Archdiocese
of Boston's website, or at Holy
Family's Marriage Prep Site
Marriage Preparation Program for 2007-2008 is available at the Espousal Retreat House in Waltham, MA. Call for dates and to register: 781-209-3120 or e-mail.
St. Bridget’s Parish in Abington, MA is sponsoring a two day Marriage Preparation Course on March 9th & March 14th, 2008. The parish welcomes any couples planning marriage in the next year to participate. For more information, please contact Deacon Jim McLaughlin at 781-878-0900.
R.C.I.A
(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
Our Parish has a very active R.C.I.A. program, which meets weekly beginning
each fall. Those adults (or children over 7) who have not been baptized in the
Catholic Church or those who have been baptized but never received the
sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation are instructed and welcomed into
the practice of the faith within a community of believers. Please contact Fr.
Jim Hickey for further details, and know that you are in the prayers of the
entire parish!
Anointing
of the Sick
This sacrament (formerly known as "Last Rites") is intended to extend
Jesus' healing love to those who are elderly, in poor health or facing surgery.
If you or someone you know would like to receive this sacrament, before
entering the hospital, please contact
the rectory at
(781) 878-0160. For
Last Rites of the Church for the Dying, please call the rectory at
(781) 878-0160.
Funerals
If you have experienced the death of a family member or loved one, please know that you have the assurance of our prayers for the deceased and for yourselves. Our parish community extends its deepest condolences.
The Church wishes to offer you her support in prayer and in liturgy. We have prepared a resource for those who are planning a funeral Mass, which you can
download
here.
After meeting with your funeral director, we invite you to contact the rectory
(781-878-0160) to meet with a parish representative to plan the Funeral Mass.
Should you wish to take an active role in the liturgy, there are a variety of
ways in which you (and others) can participate. We will be glad to assist you
in choosing appropriate readings and music for the Mass, and we will offer
ideas for how others might be involved in celebrating Christian burial for your
loved one.
