March 29, 2020

Dear Families,

Blessings to you as we prepare for the 5th Sunday of Lent on March 29. I am praying that you all are well and staying safe.  I wanted to remind you that when you go to pull up your lessons for Grades K-8 at Blog – Pflaum Gospel Weeklies (link below) please remember that if this is your first time logging in and setting up an account you may be asked for our Holy Family account number which is 1140301. Please let me know if you are having trouble logging on.

The lesson this week is from the Gospel of John and focuses on the raising of Lazarus from the dead. It is an amazing story of God's mercy and compassion. Beyond the lesson, please enjoy this movie clip from Jesus of Nazareth that illustrates this amazing miracle and message of hope. Raising of Lazarus Link Below.

I have also attached to this email some additional activities for your children. I have three Lenten puzzles for all ages and a Lenten coloring book for the younger grades. I also have a "cheat" sheet for parents on the gospel lesson.

Please make a point of watching Mass together as a family. It is important for our children to understand that we are called to celebrate Mass now more than ever and that God never abandons us. I want to remind you that Sunday Masses are being broadcast on our local cable network WRPS. You can find it on Comcast Channel 15 and Verizon Ch 32 for those who live in Rockland. It will be played back through out the week in case you aren't able to see it on Sunday. Families have said that there was great comfort for their kids to see their Church and Father Hickey, me and other familiar people and things. If you do not get the local cable channels the Mass will also be posted on our own Holy Family YouTube channel at Holy Family Church Rockland, MA (link below) I have attached the Prayer of Spiritual Communion for all of us while we are unable to receive Holy Eucharist at Mass.

For anyone who happens to be in the area of our office because you are still reporting to work, or you are running to the grocery store etc., Bob Fullam has assembled for each student all their hard copy Gospel Weeklies that we would have been giving out in class, along with each child's workbook that accompanies the weekly lessons. Please feel free to email or call us if you would like to stop by and grab these materials for your child- it may be easier for some than having to try to print or navigate the lesson on line. You can beep your horn and we can run out with our gloves on and hand that off to you to use at home.

Lastly, we have now updated our website with the most current news regarding Holy Family and what is happening due to the Coronavirus. We will continue to update it with the latest parish information, support links, free sites to access with your families etc. You can find it at http://www.holyfamilyrockland.org.

We miss you! We love you! Please let us know if we can help in anyway. We continue to prayer for health and safety for all our families and offer prayers of gratitude for all those that are working around the world to aid those affected by the Coronavirus.

Yours in Christ,

Liz
